Stuck in Kotzebue
Well we are stuck in Kotzebue. I was afraid this would happen. When we left Anchorage, they told us that Frontier might not be flying and that Alaskan airlines might not even be able to land in Kotzebue. Well they had said we might get stuck in Nome, and to be honest I always wanted to go to Nome. We didn't get stuck in Nome though, we got stuck in Kotzebue. Kotzebue is... not so much. Its basically a big Point Hope. The internet here is slow and like PHO, it doesn't have much in the way of trees or such. It does have some small treelike things though. It also isn't dark here all the time like it is in PHO right now. And it has two or three hotels and a few restaurants, which PHO certainly does not have.
I am still going to wait until we are back in PHO to download any new pictures, but I have a ton of them. I probably should have downloaded them in Anchorage where we had a real internet connection, but I didn't. I'll get on it shortly though.
I really don't think the North Slope would be all that bad if it had real high speed internet, but without it, its a very boring place at times. But then I'm a computer junkie and living without high speed internet is hard for me.

Kicking in Anchorage
Well I spent the night in Anchorage. We had to lay over on our way back to Point Hope. Sadly I only arrived here at 12 AM, so I did not get to see much. Its a very beautiful city in the winter time. Everything is covered in snow. I'd like to come back one day and see it. Unfortunately, we are leaving in one hour to go back to the airport, so I won't get to take much of it in.

I committed a theft today.....
Today I was at the hotel here in Kodiak getting a complimentary coffee from the lobby. Afterwards I wanted to inquire about the cost of a sweatshirt from the hotel and to see if they had my size. No one was at the counter. I waited for about thirty seconds and was about to walk off when I saw it. Right there in front of me, almost as if by magic, was an open bottle of Kahlua. Now remember, I had a cup of coffee in my hand.....
Nervous at first, I shouted out "is any body here?"
No one replied.
I started to reach for it, but figured I would be caught. So I decided to try another shout out. I shouted out,"If no one comes to the counter, I am going to steal a couple of shots of Kaluha."
No one came, so I quickly reached over the counter and filled my coffee cup to the brim. . . .
Ah well, for all I know tbe Kahlua may well have been complimentary as well... although I doubt it as it was sitting back behind a plant.... Ah well I doubt they will notice an ounce or two missing....
